Behavioral Health at Rainelle Medical Center Integrating Behavioral Health into Primary Care
Primary care settings have become a gateway for many individuals with behavioral health and primary care needs.

At Rainelle Medical Center our goal is simple –
to improve the quality of life for our patients by providing the highest quality outpatient mental health services. Our staff of mental health professionals provides care across a wide range of disciplines, including counseling, evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy . We strive to help each patient develop and achieve goals uniquely tailored to their individual situation, and offer the professional support of social workers, and physicians care. To address these needs, many primary care providers are integrating behavioral health care services into their setting. Models have emerged that include the use of care managers, behavioral health care providers, and consultation. Counseling in Primary Health Care Settings
Integrating care is vital to addressing all the healthcare needs of individuals with mental health and substance use problems—regardless of whether primary care services are integrated into behavioral health systems, or vice versa. Many integrated care models illustrate the successful integration of primary care into behavioral healthcare, and can guide behavioral healthcare organizations in integrating primary care into their own service system. Patient Care Models
IMPACT (Improving Mood – Providing Access to Collaborative Treatment)
IMPACT integrates depression treatment into primary care and other medical settings and has been shown to be more than twice as effective as traditional depression care. IMPACT also improves physical and social functioning and patients’ quality of life while reducing overall healthcare costs. The model has been adapted and proves effective in treating depression and other mental disorders in a wide range of patients, including those with diabetes and cancer. SBIRT (screening, brief interventions, referral to treatment)
The use of SBIRT screens for drug and alcohol use in a range of patients, to help determine the level of care needed for each patient. SBIRT screens are completed annually on all primary care patients.

📣 Important Update & Community Support Reminder

Today, CYAC wants to share a supportive reminder for all families in our community. With the temporary freeze of benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (EBT funds) — a change that may affect many households unexpectedly — we want to reaffirm our commitment to every child and family’s well-being. 💚

If you or someone you know is facing heightened food insecurity during this time, you are not alone. The following local food pantries are ready to assist, no judgment—just help.

We encourage families to reach out, connect, and take advantage of these resources. If you are able, please consider helping by donating non-perishable goods, volunteering your time, or simply sharing this message so the word gets out.

If additional assistance or referral is needed, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help connect you.

Thank you for standing together in care and compassion.
