Recently, Altercare Summit Acres was awarded the 2025 Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Business Honor Roll Award, an honor that highlights businesses and organizations making a positive impact in their local communities.

The award was presented during a recognition ceremony by Eli Svercek, Principal at Caldwell Exempted Village Schools, who shared: “Caldwell Exempted Village School truly appreciates everything the Altercare team does for the school, our community and our county.”

Meet our July Employee of the Month… Amber!

Amber Miller is our receptionist and also helps out in activities. During her 2 years as a part of our team, Amber has enjoyed building relationships with the residents and watching them succeed. Her motivation to come to work every day is being able to be a part of a great team and work environment. When asked what advice she would give to new employees joining the team, Amber stated, “Smile. You never know if someone’s having a rough day. Your smile could change someone’s day.

Amber has a dog and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Amber is that her favorite food is Mexican!

We are so thankful to have Amber as a part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what her future has in store for her. Congratulations, Amber! 💙

Recently, the Shenandoah Zeps football team collected donations to support the families affected by the recent floods in Ohio County, WV. Altercare Summit Acres teamed up with other local businesses to provide cleaning buckets filled with supplies. Our support, thoughts, and prayers go out to the families affected by the recent flooding.

Last week, Altercare Summit Acres was excited to serve up lemonade shake ups at the Summer Time Picnic at the Lake, hosted by the Noble County Senior Center. This event was for the senior citizens of the community, and we were thrilled to have a few residents from our assisted and independent living attend. We hope everyone has a summer full of good food, games, and many laughs!

We ended National Skilled Nursing Care Week with Game Day! Staff and residents wore their favorite teams’ jersey and enjoyed some delicious game day treats. Everyone enjoyed some friendly competition with a variety of games that were staff vs. residents! This was a great way to cap off our week of activities and celebrations.

Recently, we enjoyed a paint and sip event! The theme for our paintings was “Through Every Season”. Each resident had the opportunity to show their artistic skills by choosing their favorite season and painting their tree to display that season. All of the residents and family members enjoyed making memories and sharing stories while they painted. You can find the residents’ artwork displayed at an art festival this summer!

Aloha! On Thursday, we celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week with a luau. Our activities department passed out flower leis to all residents and staff. The residents enjoyed a special lunch prepared by our dietary team. Once everyone was nice and full, we were ready for Hawaiian Style Bingo and karaoke. We ended the party with fresh fruit, blue ocean punch, and sherbet. This was such a fun event! 🌴☀
