Summer is coming and we all try to think of ways to stay hydrated. . . but hydration is important all year long. Here are some suggestions on staying hydrated. What are some ways YOU stay hydrated?
* Drink water consistently throughout the day-- don't wait until you feel thirsty
* Carry a reusable water bottle --to make sipping convenient wherever you go
* Eat water-rich foods --like watermelon, cucumber, and oranges
*Set reminders or use apps-- (like WaterMinder) to prompt regular drinking.
* Flavor your water-- naturally with lemon, mint, or berries if plain water feels boring.
* Drink a glass of water before meals-- to build a routine habit
* Limit dehydrating drinks--like alcohol and excessive caffeine
* Rehydrate after exercise--with water or electrolyte drinks
* Pay attention to urine color--pale yellow usually means good hydration.
