From lightest to heaviest (and not in complete chronological order):

First photo: 2015 post first marathon. 123lb. I thought it was normal for knees to hurt all the time.

Second photo: 2018 with ultramarathon and about a year of CrossFit. I learned about this thing called protein. Still overtraining and not sleeping. Roughly 40miles per week, 6 days of CrossFit. 129lbs or so. Living on zipfizz, diet Dr. Pepper and a prayer.

Third photo: Last weekend check-in. 151lb. PMS. Cardio 4x20min per week with about 8-10k steps daily. All the protein and carbs. All the sleep.

Fourth photo: 2011. First pregnancy. 159lb and still waddle jogging.

Our bodies are amazing.

This isn’t a post about timing your workout around your cycle. I think that is over simplified and stupid. You can have sh*tty sleep/stress during supposedly optimal days. Just listen to your body.

But this is a post about the real drama of Super Bowl Sunday, my Ninja Creami dying during my luteal PEAK. According to research conducted by women need more protein and carbs during this phase to protect against muscle breakdown after hard/intense workouts. Which is what my Ninja Creami does for me damnit.

Teaching the kids to cook and clean 😉 We worked on some technique today.

A couple days ago Q mentioned that he accidentally measured out 700g of egg whites, but not to worry since he put the leftovers in the fridge. Please excuse me while I refinance my home to cover Q’s weekly 2 gallons of egg whites. Good lord, no wonder he’s 170 # these days 😵‍💫

Not all providers are equal. You need someone who wants you OPTIMIZED not normal. “Normal” compares you to the population of the unwell. “Optimal” is what you want to live your best life.
