🚑💚 EMS in the Community! 💚🚑

A few days ago, our very own EMS Director Mark Bramblet spent time with a local Girl Scout troop, bringing along one of our ambulances to give them a hands-on look at the incredible services EMS provides!

From exploring life-saving equipment to learning basic first aid skills, these future leaders got a glimpse into the vital role EMS plays in keeping our community safe and healthy. Mark shared why emergency medical services matter and how even young citizens can be empowered with knowledge that saves lives.

At AdventHealth Gordon EMS, we believe that education and outreach are key to building a stronger, healthier community. Partnerships like this help us continue to extend the healing ministry of Christ—by connecting, teaching, and inspiring others to care for one another.

🚑👨‍🚒 AdventHealth Gordon EMS at Home Depot's Public Safety Day! 👩‍🚒🚁

We had an incredible time at Home Depot Calhoun’s annual Public Safety Day Workshop!

This event is all about empowering the children in our community—teaching them how to reach emergency services and understand the vital roles we play in keeping them safe.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Home Depot Calhoun. By connecting with more citizens, we’re able to live out our mission: to extend the healing ministry of Christ through education, compassion, and service.

We were proud to roll through downtown Calhoun as part of the annual Fair Parade — a beloved tradition that signals the arrival of fair season in our community! 🎡✨

The parade was packed with energy, featuring high school bands, colorful floats, dancers, and all the festive fun that makes this time of year so special. It also served as a heartfelt tribute to our local heroes — with strong representation from fire, EMS, law enforcement, military, and veterans. 🇺🇸👮‍♂️👨‍🚒

We’re honored to serve alongside such dedicated public safety professionals and grateful to be part of a community that celebrates and supports its first responders. 💙

ADVENTHEALTH GORDON NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED FOR ITS ROLE IN PROVIDING QUALITY CARE FOR HEART ATTACKS IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA: AdventHealth Gordon has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Regional Recognition award for its regional collaboration regarding the care for those experiencing the most severe heart attacks. The Mission: Lifeline Regional achievement award is earned by hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to work with their referring and receiving hospital partners, as well as EMS, to establish a system of care based on the most up-to-date research-based guidelines as outlined by the American Heart Association.

Each year, more than 1 million cases of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) require hospitalization in the U.S., and about 30% of ACS cases are classified as ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), caused by a complete blockage in a coronary artery. Rapid restoration of blood flow through mechanical means and/or clot-dissolving medication is essential to prevent death and permanent heart damage.

Mission: Lifeline is the American Heart Association's national initiative to enhance the system of care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive medical conditions, including severe heart attacks. The program helps reduce barriers to prompt heart attack interventions – from the initial 911 call and EMS transport through hospital treatment and discharge.

Delivering optimal care for heart attack patients takes coordination across the entire care continuum, made up of individual hospitals, EMS agencies and the broader health care system.
