If your body is changing everywhere except your stomach, it’s usually not a willpower problem, it’s a physiology problem.

One of the biggest factors people overlook is hormonal balance.

When your body is under constant stress (from life, under-eating, overtraining, poor sleep, etc.), it produces more cortisol. In small amounts, cortisol is normal and helpful. But when it stays elevated for too long, it can:

• Increase fat storage around the midsection
• Make it harder to burn fat efficiently
• Disrupt hunger and cravings
• Affect sleep and recovery

That’s why you can be doing “all the right things” : working out, eating clean, and still feel stuck in your belly area.

Another piece that often gets missed is estrogen dominance (when estrogen is high relative to progesterone).

This can contribute to:
• Stubborn fat (especially lower belly, hips, thighs)
• Bloating and water retention
• Increased cravings
• Low energy or mood swings

This imbalance can be influenced by things like chronic stress, poor sleep, gut health, and even environmental factors.

The solution isn’t always more cardio or eating less.
Sometimes it’s about balancing your system so your body feels safe enough to let go of that stored fat.

Focus on:
✔️ Managing stress levels
✔️ Getting quality sleep
✔️ Supporting hormone balance through proper nutrition
✔️ Training smart, not just harder

The number of women I talk to with estrogen dominance symptoms… but are told their estrogen is low? It’s a lot.

And almost every time it comes back “low,” the solution is the same:
→ put them on estrogen cream

But no one is asking why it’s low in the first place.

Because labs only show what’s circulating, not how your body is actually processing estrogen.

They don’t show:

* How well you’re breaking it down
* How well you’re clearing it (bile → gut → out)
* Or how much is being reabsorbed and recycled

So even if estrogen looks “low”… it can still be dominating progesterone and driving symptoms.

Then estrogen gets added on top of that and now you’re not fixing the problem, you’re just layering more on.

Sometimes that doesn’t help.
Sometimes it actually makes things worse.

Because the real issue is often:

* Poor detox/clearance
* Gut health and estrogen recycling
* Inflammation
* Low progesterone balance

It’s not just about levels, it’s about how your body is handling them.

This is why you can still deal with:
Bloating
Breast tenderness
Heavy cycles
Mood swings
Weight gain

…even when estrogen looks “low” on paper.

This is exactly the kind of work I do with my clients…getting to the root cause instead of just throwing a band-aid on symptoms.
