Three things I stopped doing that created more happiness in my life. This is the change I needed.
🔸 1. I stopped comparing my real life with the lives pictured on social media. I took control of social, really. No more comparison. I know how hard it is to get a good picture of me and the kids or of my house and let me tell you, if your feed is full of them, either you are a miracle worker and never have a bad day OR you have 48 pictures on your phone and finally decided on one.
🔸 2. I stopped looking at my phone first thing in the morning. I reclaimed my morning. NOW, this is hard because my phone is my alarm clock, so technically, I looked at it to turn it off. And I have to stop myself from looking at those notifications. But I took back my mornings. Instead of letting social control my mood, I control my mood.
🔸 3. I stopped giving myself a pass. I think I was kind of easy on myself. I'd tell myself, "you had a tough day, go ahead, eat that dessert" or "it's no big deal" or "just put that off until tomorrow." Well, my to-do list grew, my issues with sugar imploded and the no big deals became big deals. No more pass, I gave myself tough love. I heard on a webinar that if you had a million dollar race horse you'd take care of it - you wouldn't feed it junk food, wouldn't not exercise, etc.... And the analogy was what do you do for yourself? And ouch. So I have focused, focused, focused on doing the hard things. Being brave.
Oh yes, and I stopped letting fear have a driver's seat. Fear doesn't serve, it stifles.
Be the change you want to see.
