DOC Life Style Change

DOC Life Style Change We want to help people make a permanent life style change. Being healthy is a long term goal with great and lasting results. Let us help you! But we are back.

My husband and I have been on a very long hiatus. We are excited to be back and hope everyone has been doing well. We are still making lifestyle changes of our own. The pandemic caused us to really take time to assess our lives and take responsibility for things that we were not doing right as far as our health. Although we both see doctors at our respective facilities, we also look to holistic treatments as well. During our break, we have done research on various health conditions. We have learned so much. We even learned more about our own health issues. Hopefully we will be able to share some of that information on our page. We are not doctors or experts. Before trying anything, you should always consult with your doctor. Never start taking new over-the-counter medications or supplements without speaking with your doctor. Never start exercising without consulting your doctor. If you see any information on this page that grabs your attention, please talk it over with your doctor. We are not responsible or liable for any hardship, loss, accidents, or death.

Sadly, this giant Wolf-dog was dumped at a kill shelter after growing too big and becoming too much for the owner to handle. Thankfully, a sanctuary took him instead and saved his life! His DNA testing came back as 87.5% Gray Wolf, 8.6% Siberian Husky and 3.9% German Shepherd. Wow!

Diabetes: Insulin resistance and Exercise
If you have Type 2 diabetes and you are insulin resistant, this message is for you.

Most people who are insulin resistant knows how hard it is to lose weight. It’s very frustrating to workout several times a week for several weeks and see little to no progress.

Insulin resistance is when a person’s body tissues have a lowered level of response to insulin. The hormone insulin plays a major role in the body by regulating the level of glucose or sugar in the body. If you are insulin resistant your cells cannot take in the glucose and as a result, the level of the glucose in the blood remains high. Any excess insulin that is not used by the body gets stored as fat.

As a person who is insulin resistant, it is important to exercise right soon after meals. Blood sugar levels tend to peak within 90 minutes of eating. Exercising will help lower and stabilize the glucose levels. It doesn’t have to be an hour workout. It only takes 10 minutes for a walk after each meal. That’s it!

As you blood sugars began to lower and to become more stable, you will began to see weight loss. When you work out, your muscles will use and take in glucose. This helps to lower the levels of insulin in your bloodstream.
