We would like to introduce to you, Ms. Phyllis Long! She brings so much joy to all of our lives. Her smile is contagious, and we love her so much!! We are thankful for her and her many years of dedication to our elderly population. She is so much fun!! Here is a little bio from our fabulous Phyllis!

I have been a registered nurse for 39 years, and for the past two decades, I have devoted my career to long-term care. With over 25 years of leadership experience, I have had the privilege of guiding teams, mentoring new nurses, and helping to shape care practices that put people first. Nursing has never been just a profession for me—it is a calling. I have always loved listening to people and their stories, and I believe it is an honor to be able to care for them through every stage of life.

Anyone who truly knows me, knows that I am both a mother and a nurse at heart. I am very family-oriented, and my greatest joy comes from my four children and two grandsons, who are the lights of my life. The love I have for my family is deeply connected to the compassion and empathy I bring into my nursing career. I see every patient as someone’s loved one, deserving of dignity, respect, and kindness.

For me, being a nurse and a mother has shaped not only who I am, but how I serve others—with patience, understanding, and a genuine heart.

Huge SHOUTOUT to these wonderful night shift ladies. From left to right- Denise, Skyler, and Lynde! Denise and Lynde had birthdays on Aug 8 & 17th, along with several residents on their hall. They had their own celebration with their whole hall with cupcakes and ice cream! Of course it was a huge hit. These ladies are wonderful, and we are so thankful to have them on our clinical night shift team. They always do the "extra" for their residents. Thank you all for what you do! We wish you all the happiest of birthdays. Thank you for celebrating your day with our sweet residents on your hall!

We are pleased to introduce to you Oakview's Administrator/CEO, Jill McConnell!! We are blessed to have had her join our family at Oakview. She's really hit the ground running making so many HUGE improvements. We are excited to see what lies ahead for our facility. Help us welcome her to our sweet community!

Jill McConnell, the administrator at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, has a rich background in long-term care spanning over 30+ years. She began her career as a nurse aide for 10 years before advancing to nursing school and becoming a nurse. Eventually, she furthered her career by becoming an administrator, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the struggles faced by both staff and residents.

Jill is dedicated to improving the lives of everyone at the facility in every way she can.

Jill has two adult children, aged 33 and 21, who have been the driving force in her life. Now that they have their own lives, she enjoys the company of her precious little rat terrier and several other dogs, cat and horses.

For the past two years, Jill has been working with Signature, traveling and filling in as an interim administrator in various facilities. She thoroughly enjoys her role and looks forward to caring for the residents at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

💙 Meet Henry – Kentucky’s Biggest Fan 🏀

In honor of Senior Citizen Month, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our beloved residents at Signature HealthCARE of Sunrise Manor—Henry, a lifelong and very proud Kentucky Wildcats fan!

When asked about the proudest moments in his life, Henry didn’t hesitate—cheering on the boys in blue has been a true highlight. From driving his decked-out Wildcat car in parades to attending games at Rupp Arena (and even sitting in on a few private practices!), Henry’s passion for his team runs deep.

He's even featured in the book "The Sixth Man," a tribute to the spirit of Kentucky basketball fans. Around here, Henry isn’t just a fan—he’s often called Kentucky’s biggest fan.

As Henry says:

“You can’t just like something when they win. You stay with them through the tough times too.”

🇺🇸 A Special Visit in Elizabethtown

Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie to Signature HealthCARE of Elizabethtown, where he spent time connecting with our residents and stakeholders. His visit was followed by a Kentucky Chamber dinner held in his honor, where we had the opportunity to hear updates on key issues and initiatives happening in Washington.

We’re grateful for leaders like Congressman Guthrie who take the time to listen, engage, and advocate for the future of long-term care.

🎖️ Let the games begin—and what a day it was! 🏅

Several of our Tennessee facilities came together for a fun-filled day of friendly competition at the Signature Senior Olympics—and WOW, did our staff and residents bring the energy!

A huge shoutout to the incredible teams from Monteagle, South Pittsburg, Cleveland, Rockwood, Spring City, and Fentress County for showing up with spirit, smiles, and serious skills. Every moment was filled with laughter, heart, and a whole lot of Signature pride.

Meet Matt J. Clark

Matt Clark brings nearly two decades of leadership experience to his role as CEO and Administrator at Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro, KY. He’s known for turning things around in skilled nursing facilities—improving operations, boosting team morale, and raising the bar for resident care. Over the years, Matt has helped several centers thrive, focusing on smart planning, strong teams, and creating a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Before stepping into the world of long-term care, Matt followed a very different path—he was a chef! A proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, he even served as Signature HealthCARE’s Regional Director of Dining Services at the Home Office. That unique background has given him a deep appreciation for hospitality, service, and the joy of bringing people together.

When he’s not at Hermitage, you’ll likely find Matt on the golf course, enjoying the outdoors, or cooking up something special for his wife Krista and their two sons, Knox and Carter. Whether he’s at work or at home, Matt is all about connection, community, and making a positive impact.

On Thursday, July 3rd, Ashleigh, our Facility Liaison/Admissions Director put some special sweet treat boxes together for our local emergency worker, HEROS. It was such an honor to be able to surprise these amazing men and women with some sweet treats before a busy holiday weekend. We appreciate all of their dedication and hard work to protect and serve.
