Preparing for presentations in New Orleans next month at the International Fascia Research Congress! 🎤 📽️ Great followup to the article that we published last year. 📚 Looking forward to learning about all of the new frontiers in fascia research! 🧠 https://www.frscongress.org/

Exciting News! 🎉

Our two abstracts have been accepted for the 7th International Fascia Research Congress in August 2025! One explores how targeted myofascial release of the thigh instantly alleviated persistent vertigo, even after hospital evaluations. The other examines how adjusting sit-stand mechanics in adolescents reduced dysmenorrhea (painful periods) without manual therapy.

In the coming months, I’ll be dedicating time to turning these cases into oral presentations and publications, which means I’ll be stepping away from social media for a while.

Fascia has become a buzzword, yet its role in metabolism and chronic conditions remains underexplored. My goal is to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications. Stay tuned for more!

Did you know your choice of footwear can affect your whole body health? 🚶‍♂️

Slides, flip-flops, and platform shoes might feel convenient, but they don’t provide the support your feet need to function properly. When your feet can’t roll through their range of motion, your ankles hyperfunction and stiffen, with effects as far away as your pelvis and even your neck!

Slides, flip-flops, and platform shoes might feel convenient, but they restrict the mobility of the many small bones in your feet.

👟 Opt for “zero-drop” shoes that wrap around your heel and allow for natural movement—your whole body will thank you!

When working out, it’s easy to fall into the habit of locking your elbows or knees at the end of a rep—but this can put unnecessary stress on your joints. ❌

By locking your joints, you force other muscles to overcompensate, which can lead to tightness, discomfort, and even injury over time. 💥

Keep your elbows and knees slightly bent to maintain proper form and protect your joints, allowing for smoother, safer movement.

We hit the gym to replace the movement our ancestors did naturally—but are we doing it right? When walking uphill in nature, we always come back down, stretching opposing muscle groups. But on an inclined treadmill or stair-stepper, that balance is lost, leading to unnecessary strain.

Modern training prioritizes dynamic movement over isolated resistance. So, for cardio, opt for a flat treadmill or elliptical, and leave hills and stairs for when you face them in real life. Skip the incline! 🚶‍♂️

Squats are one of the best exercises for strength and mobility—but only if done right! 🏋️‍♂️

To protect your joints, keep your shins vertical throughout the movement. Allowing your knees to push forward shifts the strain into your knee and ankle joints instead of letting your glutes and quads do the work.

Focus on your form, not just your reps, and let your muscles—not your joints—power the motion. 💪

Before modern technology, we relied on animals for work — they were fed, rested, and never pushed cold. Our bodies were tools too, built for movement and endurance. But now, surrounded by machines, we treat ourselves like one: no warm up, skipping maintenance, forcing performance, and expecting parts to be replaceable!

A good warm-up increases flexibility and reduces injury risk by easing muscle tension, helping you move more freely.

Warm up wisely, especially during colder months! ❄️ Stretch, move, and take it slow to build the right foundation.

Movement isn't just about exercise—it's about HOW you move. With mindful movement, you tune into your body, noticing the small adjustments that can have a huge impact on your health. This practice not only prevents injuries but enhances flexibility, strength, and even emotional well-being.

Just yesterday, I saw a young woman who had been having chronic pelvic pain that even an MRI could not diagnose — and just by being mindful of her sitting and standing movements, her pain decreased from a 6 to 4/10 within a few days. 😮 What we don’t realize is that GRAVITY is always working on us while we are moving, and we can choose to let it be our Friend, rather than our Foe.

By moving with awareness, you unlock a deeper connection to your body, creating lasting changes that improve your quality of life.

As we celebrate the spirit of the season, let’s support our fascia and immune systems with plenty of hydration and meaningful movement, even if it is just a big sigh or a few mindful deep breaths. Technology has created many conveniences, and we sometimes forget that we are not machines ourselves – our bodies and nervous system need quality rest and time to relate to others.

This holiday, may you have ease of movement and a peaceful spirit, to allow your health to shine bright into the new year. 🌟

🎄 Cheers to a joyful season and a vibrant 2025! 🎆

Your Body: The Original AI Machine 🦾

Your body is constantly adapting, much like the ultimate AI system. It doesn’t just respond to immediate demands—it learns from patterns, remodeling itself over time.

Without targeted exercises, astronauts lose bone density in space, showing how movement shapes our structure. The same goes for fascia, the connective tissue that organizes your entire body and is stronger than steel.

Strategic care can help identify and undo dysfunctional patterns, achieving results that last beyond temporary fixes.

🥨 Your joints are like flexible straws—they’re designed to bend, twist, and support smooth movement. But what happens when stiffness creeps in?

Overuse, poor posture, or lack of mobility can turn those once-flexible “straws” into rigid, stuck structures. The places where the flexi-straw would elongate, just scar together, and gradually fewer and fewer of those folds actually pull out to assist with bending. Our pain comes from the overuse of these few remaining flexible folds. Just like a straw that’s been bent too many times, your joints lose their flow and functionality.

The good news? You can restore flexibility with intentional care, mindful movement and targeted techniques.
