We're proud to be a Moorpark Pioneer Family! Here's a priceless photo of my grandparents, Primo & Carmen Perez, taken in 1934 on their wedding day in front of Moorpark Elementary (now Flory). “The school was originally built in 1928 as an all-brick building with a bell tower. Due to earthquake safety laws, the bell tower was removed and an art deco entrance was added in the late 30s. The auditorium was also built around that time. In the late 60s, the brick wings were torn down for earthquake safety and the current main office building was constructed. Flory Street School wasn't widely used until Poindexter School (Chaparral) was built in the early 60s.” -History lesson courtesy of Mike Winters
