Freeze dried funsies

12/18/2025

I have everything to make the New Pink Himalayan Sea Salt soap with Pink kaolin clay scented with Rose essential oil.
Every one of these ingredients are known for accelerating trace so I will be making adjustments to help slow that process. I’m excited to have something new and something pink 🩷

Understanding the 75/25 Rule for Oregon Farmstands
https://www.oregonlegislature.gov/bills_laws/ors/ors215.html

We want to start sharing more information with our community about the items we are appealing with Hood River County. Our hope is that by explaining each issue clearly, everyone can better understand how these rules affect local family farms like ours.

Today, we’re beginning with an important one: the 75/25 farmstand rule.

What the 75/25 Rule Means Across Most of Oregon

In nearly every county in Oregon, admissions to farm-based activities — such as tulip fields, sunflower fields, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, u-picks, and blossom walks — are considered farm income because these activities directly promote the crops grown on the farm.

Under state law, these types of activities fall into the 75% farm category.

How Hood River County Interprets It Differently

Hood River County is one of the only counties that counts all admissions, even admissions to crop-based activities, as “incidental” and places them in the 25% category.

That means that events built around the crops we grow — tulips, pumpkins, apples, pears, sunflowers — are classified here as “non-farm income,” even though they are directly tied to our agricultural production.

Why This Matters

This interpretation puts Hood River farms at a disadvantage compared to other Oregon counties.
It limits the ability of local farms to host the same types of events that are considered normal and acceptable elsewhere in the state.

We are not asking for special treatment.
We are simply asking to be treated the same way other Oregon farms are treated under the same state law.

Why We’re Sharing This

Our goal over the next several days is to walk through each issue we are appealing so our community can understand how these interpretations impact family farms in Hood River Valley.

We love this community and appreciate your support as we work toward fair, consistent rules that allow farms like ours to continue growing food, hosting seasonal experiences, and preserving agricultural land for generations to come.
