You’ve been taking fake vitamin C and didn’t even know it.
Ascorbic acid - the stuff in your drugstore bottle - is basically a car without an engine. It’s just the outer shell of vitamin C, but it’s missing everything nature put on the inside.
In nature, vitamin C comes packaged with copper, bioflavonoids, and cofactors that tell your body “this is safe to use.” Without them, your body has to raid its own mineral reserves just to process it.
Here’s the part nobody talks about: the researcher who made synthetic vitamin C famous couldn’t actually reverse scurvy with the isolated ascorbic acid. He had to dumb down his research to get it published.
The only thing that reverses scurvy is whole food vitamin C - because your body recognized it as part of nature, part of itself.
When you take 1,000 mg of synthetic vitamin C, you’re not helping your body - you’re making a demand on it. Compare that to 500 mg of whole food vitamin C, which is the whole car without an engine, which your body can actually use without depleting itself.
The challenge is our soils have been stripped for generations. We’re third, maybe fourth generation nutrient-depleted in the key minerals and cofactors that nature designed to go hand in hand with these nutrients.
So if you’re still taking synthetic vitamins you’ve been bamboozled, you’re not filling the tank - you’re draining it.
Your body isn’t broken. It just needs molecules it actually recognizes - the way nature made them.
