December 17th, 2020 Salubria Center had a staff and resident Christmas party. Laughs and fun were had by all. Residents enjoyed games and gifts from staff and family. Staff had our first Ugly Sweater Contest. The judge had a hard time choosing a winner but all staff that participated did an awesome job. The residents all loved looking at our efforts. We had a Reindeer ring toss, and a throw the snowball at the snowman game. Then we had a free throw and snowballs were flying all over Salubria Center!

Salubria Center has been awarded several grants this past year to further enhance our activity department. We would like to send out a huge thank you to our grant writer Laura Demaray RN for all your hard work in researching and appling for the grants.
The first grant we recieved was from the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation. With this grant we were able to purchase our laptop and TV with a movable stand so that each resident will have access to mentally stimulting games and also Zoom meetings with families. We were also able to add new supplies to our activityprogram such as puzzles, books, and new decorations for birthday parties and events.
Salubria also recieved grants from the Idaho Community Foundation and The Jeker Family Trust. We have so many plans for the year ahead to improve our Activity Department and help Salubria Center to make its first web page.

Greetings friends and families of Salubria Center. We have been shopping for supplies to continue to keep our residents healthy and safe from COVID. As you may know there are restictions on the amount of certian supplies, so we are sometimes unable to purchase the amount we need. We are asking that if you have extra lysol wipes, lysol spray, hand sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, or flushable wipes for personal care would you consider donating them to Salubria Center? We thank you in advance for any and all donations.

We at Salubria Center have done our very best to follow every guideline from the CDC, Health & Welfare and District Health Departmentand we practice every precaution with infection control to keep our residents and staff safe, but even then, the virus has entered most facilities in Idaho and throughout the nation. Some news organizations have made it appear as if facilities are negligent and must have done something wrong if COVID has entered a senior care facility. This is not true!! Our staff are exhausted but working every scheduled day plus extra days when asked to meet the needs of our residents! Our team puts their lives at risk and their families at risk to make sure residents get the care they need. There was already a staffing shortage prior to COVID and now it is much worse. We need more staff. Staff at our facility are HEROES and we love and honnor them. We love our residents and are so appreciative of their supportive families. But we need more heroes! We can provide the training required. If you have a strong back and a soft heart, we need you, please give us a call.

Salubria Center

Our center was built by a wonderful group of people in the Midvale, Cambridge, Indian Valley and Council communities. Many hands worked together many long hours and days to form the Upper Country Elder Care Coalition in 1992 and they worked on fund raising, meeting with architects, county officials, and the local senior centers to create the beautiful building that many have called home over the past 14 years. The purpose of the coalition was to improve the quality if life for the elderly and those with disabilities living in the “Upper Country”. The Salubria Center appreciates each and every one who helped no matter how small or large a part they played in helping to build and supply our center. Without each of you we would not be able to provide the quality care and home like feeling to our residents.

Our staff feels privileged to care for the seniors in our community. Each resident is cared for as if they were our own family. We encourage all families to call and visit their loved ones. With the Covid-19 situation we do follow CDC guidelines therefore we do have some visiting restrictions but please know that your loved ones need to see you and hear from you.
