If you experience only occasional reflux, you may be able to pinpoint the cause to eating certain foods. Each individual who experiences reflux symptoms (burning and pain in the chest) can be irritated by different foods. One of my clients said that her reflux was trigger by bananas! Here are seven types of food/drink that tend to flare up the general population of those suffering from reflux after eating.
Watching the patterns between eating certain foods and experiencing pain or burning after can help clarify which foods are best avoided and create more enjoyable meal times. Beyond cleaning up the diet, there are so many other factors that can help resolve reflux symptoms, flare management, and prevent reflux from occurring! If you're interested in learning more about why these foods trigger reflux flares, other ways you can begin to manage your symptoms, or are just curious about what the heck is happening to your body when you experience acid reflux, check out my blog!

On May 4th at the American Legion Kitchen in Cambridge, NY I will be hosting a cooking class from 4-7pm that focuses on how to cook healthy, reflux friendly meals. It can be hard to make the transition to cooking for reflux or GERD, especially if some of the foods you love to enjoy are those that seem to be causing you the most pain. This cooking class is a chance to dive right into the kitchen with an open mind and a clean plate! If you're ready to say good-bye to GERD for good, click the link below to read more about the class and register to save your spot!
