On July 25, our Haitian Creole-speaking Community Health Workers led a Hypertension Workshop at La Source, an elder day service center serving the Haitian Creole-speaking community in Malden and nearby areas. All 40+ attendees were fully engaged and eager to learn more about managing hypertension! By the end of the session, participants shared that they felt more informed and motivated to take steps toward a heart-healthy lifestyle. Thank you to our CHWs for making health education accessible, engaging, and culturally relevant.

At CHA, we believe in supporting our community in every way possible. Our August Mobile Market provided free food to 576 participants, totaling 2204 individuals who received healthy fresh produce along with lentils, chunk light tuna, rice and peanut butter. In addition, we offered 80 free blood pressure screenings. Participants received educational information and were encouraged to seek follow-up care. On July 1, Dr. David Wing performed CHA’s first MISHA procedure for chronic medial knee pain. The MISHA system is an implant, similar to a car shock absorber, that reduces peak forces on painful knee joints during activities such as walking, running, or even standing.
