Body weight is not something that can be dictated by a chart or calculation. Clinicians must trust the wisdom of their client’s body to find the right size that supports physical and emotional well-being.

Our job is to resist the pressure to “decide” what a healthy weight should be and instead focus on long-term health.

If you are concerned that your child may be struggling with their relationship with food, we understand that you might be worried, concerned, afraid and overwhelmed right now.

It is very likely uncharted territory for both of you, and you might not be sure what steps to take next.

While it is not uncommon for parents to feel lost when their child shows signs of disordered eating, it’s important to know that there are others out there who understand what you are going through!

Resilient Voices is a supportive group designed to help you navigate the challenges of chronic illness and eating disorders. Our next group begins January 13th. If you’re interested in joining, you can apply using the link below. Food insecurity affects 44 million Americans and 795 million people worldwide—a staggering reality we cannot ignore. I wrote an article during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week to inspire others to reflect on the vital connection between access to food and mental health, including the risk of developing eating disorders.

In this article, I discuss:

🔹The hidden link between hunger and eating disorders
🔹Why asking about food access matters in treatment
🔹How giving—whether donating food or funds—can ground us during stressful times

Discover how small actions can make a big difference.

Whether you’re a new freshman or a seasoned senior, or even a recent grad starting a new job… these life changes can be challenging in many ways.

It's a time filled with change, and it makes sense why the transition to college and to the workforce are some of the most prevalent times for an eating disorder to emerge.

Anita Dharwadkar, one of the Registered Dietitians with Marci RD Nutrition, knows from personal experience that one of the best ways to navigate eating “healthy” during these times is finding support.

Having a safe space to talk to others in the same situation as you, and we offer a group program led by Anita that offers a space for people 18 and up, including college students and new grads too, to get the support you need.

Our next group is running from January to March; we meet every 2 weeks and it is a great way to build your resilience before school starts or as you jump into that new job.

To see if our program is a fit for you, check out this information and contact Anita to apply. You can also share this with anyone you know who may be interested.

The world teaches us to analyze, watch, and critique how our bodies look, which erodes our capacities to reside IN our bodies.

When we are more fully embodied, we have greater power to make values-aligned, self-caring choices. Connection to rather than objectification of our bodies can be a superpower, even when the world around us is harmful.

Our Story

Marci RD Nutrition: Food & Body Image Healers® helps clinicians and clients alike develop smart, enduring strategies for overcoming eating disorders, disordered eating, and the backlash of chronic dieting.

Our organization serves two groups of people – individuals looking to develop a healthier relationship to food and their bodies and clinicians seeking training on how to counsel individuals in recovery from eating disorders and disordered eating. However, a single working philosophy informs the work we do in both fields.

Marci developed her online training institute designed specifically to educate and empower dietitians to work in the field of eating disorders. She is proud of her online training institute and looks forward to building her library of training opportunities in the coming years. In addition to her online teaching, she is an internationally recognized and sought after speaker. She loves developing and giving talks and workshops to her fellow colleagues.
