📅 Don’t forget to join in on this impactful celebration and rally!
📍 Wednesday, July 23 in Boston
➡️ More details at https://www.boston.gov/calendar/ada-35-boston

This July marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) becoming law in the United States, which protects people with disabilities from discrimination in employment, local government, places of public accommodation, transportation, and more.

We’ll be joining ADA35 Boston, a march and rally to speak out for disability rights, on July 23rd. There will be a flag raising on Boston City Hall Plaza at noon, followed by a march along Tremont Street to the Embrace Memorial on Boston Common, where a rally will be held. We hope you’ll join us and the broader disability community to bring support and advocacy to the Commonwealth this Disability Pride Month!

Today, we welcome Dr. Kiame Mahaniah to his new role as health and human service secretary.

Dr. Mahaniah was the recipient of last year's Outstanding Public Official Award at our Family Partnerships event. We know he will continue to serve Massachusetts with care and compassion, committed to health equity and streamlining health care services so that patients have a more coordinated, integrated experience. We admire Dr. Mahaniah’s mission to prioritize the most vulnerable within our communities.

⭐ It’s All Star Friday! ⭐

Lead Residential Counselor Jessica Rivera deserves a huge shoutout for her recent support in providing meaningful memories for some of the residents in her program! Taking two gentlemen camping on the Cape allowed them to soak up the sun, take in the beauty of the ocean, and collect sea glass, shells, and rocks as mementos.

This is the type of work we love to see within our programs: connecting with others and providing opportunities to experience the joys in life. Way to go, Jessica!

What an incredible morning celebrating Gateway Arts' new location in Brookline! We are profoundly thankful for the support we have received through donations, spreading the word, purchasing artwork, and assistance moving to our new space from community members across the Commonwealth.

A special thank you to Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll, Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services Commissioner Sarah Peterson, and State Representative Tommy Vitolo for being part of our special day. The ribbon was uniquely made by Gateway artists, a beautiful detail of today's celebration.

We encourage you to continue supporting Gateway Arts by stopping by, viewing the art on display, and taking some home to enjoy!
