“Throughout my pregnancy, I received my care at the Birth Center in Cambridge,MA in which Merline is very fond of. She received her care there for her three kids and even birthed her last son there. My plan was to have a natural birth or even a water birth. Merline came to almost EVERY appointment. She had an intake form that we completed and even a birth plan. I knew nothing about a birth plan prior to this pregnancy so Merline was very informative on the importance of having one. In between appointments, Merline would check up on me weekly to see how I’m doing or if she could assist me in any way. There was nothing she didn’t do for me. We practiced the birthing ball, hot shower, soaking in the tub, walking and squatting, massaging, oil, and even the robozo.Throughout postpartum, Merline has continued to be a support. She cleaned up around the house for me. She visited us weekly. She's provided me with nutritious meals that promote good breastfeeding. She even calls and/or texts to check up on us regularly. You will never regret choosing her.”

Merline was amazing in my appointment and so supportive during my delivery. Her being there in the delivery room with me was so helpful as this was my first pregnancy and just having someone who’s been through it before was just comforting. I had challenges during the length of my pregnancy and there was a huge difference with the way my appointments went when I went alone and when Merline was present. The conversation with the health care providers were different with a doula there and the reality was so eye opening as a black woman!
