It can be hard to tell the difference between normal life changes and something more. If you or a loved one has noticed ongoing sadness, loss of interest in activities, changes in sleep, or increased worry, it may be time to talk to someone.
These experiences are common, but they are not something you have to accept without support.
Tri Valley Health System's Senior Life Solutions provides support for older adults facing depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. If someone you know is struggling, reaching out can make a difference.

🧠 May is Stroke Awareness Month

A stroke is a medical emergency that requires immediate action. The faster someone gets help, the better the chance of recovery.

Know the warning signs — they can appear suddenly:

Numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg (especially on one side)
Trouble speaking or understanding speech
Sudden vision changes
Dizziness, loss of balance, or coordination
Severe, unexplained headache

If you notice any of these symptoms, don’t wait — call 911 immediately.

Taking care of your health today can reduce your risk tomorrow. Managing blood pressure, staying active, and regular checkups make a difference.

Help spread awareness this month — it could save a life in your community.

This Month Tri Valley Health System is celebrating National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month.

Regular physical activity helps support bone strength and reduces the risk of falls. Weight-bearing and muscle-strengthening exercises, like walking or resistance training, can help maintain bone density and improve balance. Even small amounts of movement throughout the day can add up.

Tri Valley Health System offers DXA scans. A DXA scan, also called a bone density
scan, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. DXA is today’s established standard for measuring bone mineral density. Bone density tests are a quick and painless procedure. Routine evaluations every two years may be needed to see a significant change in bone mineral density, decrease or increase. Few patients, such as patients on high dose steroid medication, may need follow-up at six months.

If you have any questions please call (308) 697-3317.
