Friday was an amazing day and a resounding success. Share a bit of that energy with us, will you?

We did our best to bridge 🇨🇿 Czech and 🇺🇸 American in the company of Jan Konvalinka, Marek Ženíšek, Milena Kralickova, Zuzana Keckesova and many other wonderful guests. We met Boston's best, thanked our colleagues, laughed and discussed future collaborations. It appears there will be many 🥳

IOCB Prague - Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry launched its first lab overseas. IOCB Boston is now officially open. 🍾

T-minus 8 hours. Then we're officially in business. 🥳

While our Boston colleagues are still fast asleep - we hope - in Prague, we're already gearing up for their Great Day. We're spending our (local) time with two geniuses born in Boston and Prague.

We doubt the world has seen them smile—or we haven't, at least. Yet E. A. Poe and Franz Kafka must have had their moments of utterly irresponsible and reality-evading cheerfulness.

This is how we imagine them looking at our current endeavour: party preparations. By abusing AI, we made them talk science and opening new labs.

Poor chaps.

Who is coming to the grand opening?

IOCB Boston launch is here in four days, and the city itself is preparing to host Head of the Charles Regatta 2024, one of the world’s largest rowing events.

We are, of course, convinced that our launch party will be incomparably cooler.

Among our local guests is one of the world’s most prominent biologists, Mr Robert A. Weinberg (MIT), as well as over 100 scientists, alumni and academic colleagues from Harvard, MIT and other notable Boston institutions.

And who will make the trip from Czechia? We are proud to welcome the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation, Mr Marek Ženíšek; the Deputy Minister of Education, Mr Jaroslav Miller; the Consul General of the Czech Republic, Mr Arnošt Kareš; and the Rector of Charles University, Ms Milena Králíčková.
