Many years in the making - we are thrilled to welcome the inaugural class of Boston College Connell School of Nurse Midwifery students start their clinical rotations at Mount Auburn Hospital!

It is an honor to receive this designation for the second year in a row. Over 900 hospitals were surveyed and only 90 hospitals in the United States were awarded.
This award is a testament to the hard work of our team of doctors, nurses, support staff and our large team of midwives!

“In 2021, Dr. Bostock began automatically routing low-risk patients into midwifery care. And last year, she gave midwives their own department within the hospital system, allowing them to make their own decisions about how they practice, rather than being overseen by obstetricians.”

Financial and social incentives can nudge doctors away from the operating room.

Mount Auburn Hospital is honored to have been invited to present at PNQIN, Massachusetts' perinatal quality organization, about our approach to achieving one of the lowest C-section rates in the state. What is our strategy? We prioritize respecting patient autonomy, practicing patience, supporting doulas, offering water birth options, and promoting mobility during labor. Our exceptional team comprises OBs, nurses, pediatricians, and midwives, with midwives delivering over half of the babies and playing an integral role in leadership and culture of patient care on our unit.

Our in person postpartum support group Tuesdays at 1:30

Our virtual postpartum support group Tuesdays at 11am

And our NEWLY OPENED Baby Cafe for breastfeeding support on Thursdays at 9:30am
