OVP HEALTH’s Samie Brown, PA-C, Honored with 2025 “Rising Star” Award at Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge, OH

HUNTINGTON (WV) — OVP HEALTH is proud to announce that Samie Brown, PA-C, has been named the 2025 recipient of the prestigious “Rising Star” award at OhioHealth’s Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio.

Brown is a member of OVP HEALTH’s emergency department team at Southeastern Medical Center. She is being recognized as a physician assistant new in her tenure who consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence in patient care and teamwork. Her ability to connect with patients, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and pursue continuous professional growth has made her a standout member of the healthcare team at Southeastern Medical Center, according to her nomination.

Brown’s recognition as a Rising Star highlights the vital role advanced practice providers with less than five years of experience play in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to patients. This local honor also enters Brown into a national contest with the results announced next week during National APP Week.

Garrett Kellogg, PA-C is an NCCPA board certified Physician Assistant. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science with summa cm laude honors at The Ohio State University. After graduation he attended Marietta College obtaining his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Garrett completed his clinical training in Pediatrics at Medical Associates of Cambridge, in addition to rotations in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Psychiatry, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He started his career in Cardiology in Columbus, OH where he provided both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care.
