On March 21, the Department of Community Health’s Career Pathways Program, CHA Cambridge Hospital, and Perioperative Services hosted Career Pathways Fellows for an immersive day of learning in the Operating Room with demonstrations of surgical tools, supported by volunteers from Medtronic, Intuitive and Stryker Surgical Technologies. Students got opportunities to practice and use simulations of the Davinci and Mako surgical robots and other devices. Fellows were able to network and learn about the career journeys of doctors, nurses, surgical technicians and medical device specialists. This year’s Career Pathways cohort are teens and young adults from Everett, working at CHA in various departments and attending regular professional development programming, while also gaining valuable mentorship as they build skills to advance their healthcare career journeys. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this special day possible!
