💪 Anne’s Inspiring Rehab Journey at Neville Center 💙

Anne came to Neville Center for short-term rehab after a fall at home that resulted in a left femur fracture and surgery. When she first arrived, she needed significant assistance with daily activities and mobility, requiring two staff members for transfers and only tolerating a few minutes of sitting during therapy.

Through determination, hard work, and the support of our Physical and Occupational Therapy teams, Anne made incredible progress. By discharge, she was independently completing upper-body bathing and dressing, managing toileting with supervision, and requiring only minimal assistance with lower-body care. She progressed to transferring independently, walking 100 feet with a rolling walker, and even began climbing stairs again!

🌟 Anne’s words say it best:
“What made my rehab a success? Wanting to really get better. At my age, you have to start now.”
When asked if she would return to Neville, Anne replied, “Oh yeah! I had girlfriends who came here and recommended it.”

We’re so proud of Anne and honored to be part of her recovery journey!

Michael came to Neville Center for short-term rehab after a fall led to a left hip fracture and surgical repair. He arrived well below his baseline—needing help with daily activities and walking short distances with a rolling walker.

After working hard in PT/OT, Michael is now discharging home independently, walking 500’ with a rolling walker and climbing 8 stairs without physical assistance.

“The thing that helped the most was the exercise—walking… People were willing to hear what I was comfortable with… PT/OT worked around my routine and taught me how to manage with pain.”

“Certainly—I’d return. I made lots of progress here.”

Diane beat the odds. After a fall, rib fractures, and ongoing chemotherapy, she came to us requiring total assist. With determination and the support of PT and OT, she returned to her assisted living community stronger than before—now transferring with minimal help and walking up to 100 feet with a rolling walker.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

At Neville Center, we proudly stand with survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and support the ongoing fight against breast cancer. Our team and residents came together to raise awareness and show solidarity by wearing pink and sharing in activities that spread hope and strength.

Together, we’re reminded of the importance of early detection, support, and community.

Innovation in Action at Neville Center

Our BreatheWell program combines advanced technology with personalized care to help our patients breathe more easily and live better.

Here, one of our therapists is working with a patient using OmniFlow®, an interactive respiratory therapy system designed to make breathing exercises more engaging and effective. Alongside this, our use of ARA® for Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) allows us to closely track progress and ensure individualized care plans.

After a fall, Teresa came to us unable to walk and relying on a mechanical lift for transfers. With the support of her therapy team, she regained strength, mobility, and independence—now walking 150 feet with a rolling walker and completing her daily activities with confidence.

Her words say it all: “Jennifer and Maddie helped me a lot with exercise to get better. They taught me how to walk again. I feel successful.”
