🌿 Staff Development Day 2025 | Cedar Ridge Behavioral Health Solutions 🌿
💜Theme: "Work Hard, Stay Weird"
Today was a reminder of why we do what we do. 💚
We started the morning with smiles, laughter, and caffeine — thanks to our friends at The Human Bean, who fueled us up with Bright Energy drinks, delicious lattes (hot and cold!), and sweet treats that set the tone for an amazing day ahead. ☕✨
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Mark Shatz, opened our hearts and minds with a powerful message on death, dying, and loss — reminding us of the deep compassion it takes to walk beside others through their hardest moments.
Then came lunch, and let’s just say… Olive Garden didn’t disappoint! 🍝 The “Build Your Own Pasta” bar was a hit, and while we filled our plates, our hearts were filled by the words of our founders Alicia and Troy Beynon, and our Vice President Crystal Reynolds.
They spoke with such honesty and love about the impact Cedar Ridge has made — not just in the lives of those we serve, but in every community we touch. 💬 Their words reminded us that every phone call answered, every hand held, every small act of kindness adds up to something so much bigger than ourselves. We aren’t just employees — we are difference-makers, and together, we are changing lives. ❤️
The afternoon was packed with learning and connection — a fun networking scavenger hunt followed by breakout sessions that inspired personal and professional growth:
💡 Ashley Carpenter shared critical knowledge on Human Trafficking Awareness,
💆♀️ Kelly Henry helped us reflect on Resetting and Reconnecting, highlighting the importance of caring for ourselves so that we can continue to effectively take care of others,
🧠 and Doctoral Students from Kentucky University guided us through Trauma-Informed Care, reinforcing the importance of empathy in every interaction.
We closed the day by celebrating our team — recognizing years of service, dedication, and the incredible people who make Cedar Ridge such a special place. 🏆✨
To every member of our Cedar Ridge family: thank you. You are the heart behind our mission, and today reminded us all that together, we don’t just provide care — we provide hope. 💙
