Last week, we celebrated two incredible members of The Springs of Camden family — Jeffrey and Laretha — during National Patient Transport Week!
To most, “transportation” might sound simple — a ride from point A to point B. But to our Elders, and to all of us who see Jeffrey and Laretha in action, it’s so much more.
They are the calm in anxious moments, the laughter that fills the quiet, the steady hearts that turn every ride into a moment of care and comfort. They don’t just drive — they journey with our elders through every appointment, every dialysis day, every goodbye at a funeral, and every joyful outing to the salon or store.
They are there in the waiting rooms at appointments when news comes — sometimes good, sometimes hard — offering reassurance, a gentle word, or just a comforting presence. And on the long rides home, they carry more than passengers — they carry stories, emotions, and the quiet strength of those they serve.
Jeffrey and Laretha lift spirits the moment they walk through the door. An elder may not feel up to an appointment, but when either of these two arrive — smiles beaming, laughter ready — suddenly the world feels a little lighter.
They are more than staff. More than friends. They are family — to our team, to our community, and most of all, to our Elders who love them dearly.
We are endlessly proud and grateful that they are ours here at The Springs of Camden!
