Kornegay Funeral Home Since 1931, our family has taken immense pride in serving the families of Kershaw County. Grainger Kornegay and Saluda Dunbar Kornegay.

For more than 90 years, the Kornegay Family has had the privilege and honor of serving the residents of Kershaw County. The origins of our funeral home trace back to 1931 when it was founded by C. As the years passed, we expanded our services to include the Lugoff-Elgin community in 1985. Recognizing the needs of the community, we added a new chapel to our Camden location in 1998. Responding to th

e increasing demand for cremation services, in 2009, we proudly opened a new funeral home in Lugoff, complete with a state-of-the-art Crematory. Throughout our journey, we have held fast to the values instilled by Saluda Dunbar Kornegay, who emphasized the importance of treating others the way we would want to be treated ourselves. This philosophy has shaped our reputation for generations and remains at the core of everything we do today.

In Memoriam: His Holiness, the Pope

With profound sorrow, Kornegay Funeral Home joins the world in mourning the passing of His Holiness, the Pope. We extend our deepest condolences to the Catholic community both locally and globally, as we honor the life of a cherished spiritual leader and tireless advocate for peace.

To pay tribute to his enduring legacy, we invite members of the community to visit either of our locations to sign a memorial register book and receive a prayer card in his honor. The completed register book will be sent to the Vatican as a heartfelt expression of our community’s collective grief and deep respect.
