Good morning and Happy new year , we are happy to welcome our new Nurse Practitioner, Yessica Martinez FNP , who joined our family couple months ago ( sorry for the late announcement)

a.k.a. “Jessica”

Yessica is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Bright Future Pediatrics. Born in Altus, Oklahoma, she moved to Camden, DE, in 2000 due to her father's military career. Her passion for health and science began in high school, leading her to earn a Biological Science degree with a Chemistry minor from Delaware State University (DSU). While at DSU, she participated in research on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, contributing as a second author on a publication.

While studying, Yessica had the opportunity to shadow Bright Future Pediatrics, which deepened her interest in pediatrics. She later completed a second Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Thomas Jefferson University.

Yessica worked as a bedside nurse on a Level 1 Trauma Medical Surgical unit at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, for three years while pursuing her master’s degree. She completed her clinical pediatrics rotation at Bright Future Pediatrics and joined the practice as a provider in September 2024. Yessica is dedicated to early detection and interventions for the best possible patient outcomes.

Yessica enjoys traveling, exercising, and biking with her husband in her free time.

WOW! This is our soon to be 15 year old daughter, Lila, off to work at Bright Future Pediatrics. Her and Amir were 2years old when we opened!

Bright Future pediatrics is closed today. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Our nurse triage service is available by calling our main number if you need medical advice regarding a sick child. If you feel that your child needs to be seen by a provider we recommend going to a local, urgent care or emergency room. If you have a non-medical urgent matter that cannot wait till Monday you can call the practice manager, Dina Abdelsalam, at 856-298-3704. We will re-open on Monday at 8 AM.

Symptoms from a cold can linger a lot longer than most parents realize. 2 weeks is not unusual and the cough can often linger for weeks. If your child is otherwise acting well, best to ride it out. Lots of fluids, saline spray to help congestion and honey at bedtime are all safe, easy, inexpensive and help reduce the symptoms.
