Shawn F. Churchill-Coy, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, RNFA
We are thrilled to welcome Shawn Churchill-Coy MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, RNFA, to our provider team at Carney’s Family Clinic. As a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Shawn is board certified in both areas through the American Nursing Credentialing Center, with over 35 years of healthcare experience. Shawn also offers joint injections to the shoulder, knee and elbows. Her compassion, calm presence, and deep experience make her a wonderful addition to our practice.
She earned her master’s degree in nursing and completed the Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dual program at The University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Shawn earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Mississippi School of Nursing in Jackson, Mississippi; completed the Registered Nurse First Assist program at Gateway Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, and earned her associate degree in nursing at Hinds Community College in Jackson, Mississippi. During her career,
Shawn has worked in administrative, clinical liaison, business development, first assistant, and various nursing roles. She developed a deep passion for behavioral health while working at a mental health crisis center. Shawn believes it is important we have ways to cope with life’s stresses and has a passion to help with her patient’s physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and social well-being needs. With mental health as an integral part of our overall well-being, and plays a significant role in our relationships, physical health, and daily life. Shawn’s goal is to provide holistic healthcare for individuals and their family by providing Primary and Mental Healthcare to all ages.
Outside the clinic, Shawn enjoys spending time with her family, church and community activities, reading, swimming, and traveling. She is married to Andy Coy and they have one son, Austin who is married to Olivia.
