It's Heart Health Awareness Month!!!

Did you know that you can be on your way to a healthier heart with just 4 steps??

Step 1: Maintain a healthy diet and weight. A healthy diet can reduce your risk of heart disease and just a 10% loss in weight can also help to reduce these risks dramatically!

Step 2: Exercise regularly! Getting at least 30 to 60 minutes of exercise per day helps you to control your weight.

Step 3: Don't smoke and limit your alcohol consumption. Ni****ne damages your heart and blood vessels by narrowing arteries. Too much alcohol can increase the levels of triglycerides in your blood and can lead to high blood pressure, heart failure, and stroke.

Step 4: Monitor your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar levels.

Schedule an appointment with one of our providers by calling (803) 773-5227, so that you can see just how heart health smart you are!

Knowing what causes heart disease, what puts you at risk for it, and how you can reduce those risks can help you make informed decisions to protect your heart and keep it strong.

Every week for the month of February, we will share some heart healthy facts to help you live a healthier lifestyle.
