Brownell Physical Therapy & Fitness Center

Brownell Physical Therapy & Fitness Center The number one physical therapy clinic at the Lake of the Ozarks since 2001 Brownell is proud to be serving in his 12th season on the Laker sidelines.

Although Rodney Brownell did not open Brownell Physical Therapy & Fitness Center until 2000, he came on the scene in 1985 as a running back for the Camdenton Lakers, helping them win State Championships in 1986 & 1987. He began providing outpatient physical therapy here at the Lake of the Ozarks in 1996, but returned to the sidelines in 1998 to report injuries for KRMS radio. In 1999, Brownell became the team rehab therapist and since August 2000, he has provided the sports medicine needs of many Laker sports and activities. Rodney is a Camdenton High School graduate (‘88) with Bachelors degrees in Exercise Science from Truman State (‘93) and Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri-Columbia (’96). Rodney and Suzanne, his wife of 20 years, have 4 sons: Anthony, Henry and twins Avery & Harrison. Brownell Physical Therapy & Fitness Center opened in November 2000 at the Stone Castle Centre one-half mile west of the square in Camdenton. The clinic boasts a large gymnasium with four private treatment rooms and a locker room. The clinic is bright and cheery, all the way down to the purple and gold color scheme making Laker players and fans feel right at home. Each member of the staff is a loyal Laker fan and Camdenton graduate. Brownell Physical Therapy provides treatments geared toward functional outcomes. Their approach is to provide education, pain relief, and high-quality instruction in therapeutic exercise to facilitate a quick and lasting recovery. With hands-on techniques, they restore muscle function and reduce pain to promote proper movement patterns. They provide instruction in Spinal Stabilization and return people to gainful employment with Work Hardening/Work Conditioning. They are participating providers for most commercial insurance, including Medicare, BCBS, Healthlink, Mercy Premier, Mercy Care Plus, AETNA, United Healthcare, Humana, TriCare, Missouri Care and Healthcare USA. They proudly serve veterans through the VA as well. They are a state-inspected and certified treatment center for Workers’ Compensation. Rodney and his staff are dedicated to assisting their clients in returning to an active lifestyle. His clients have expressed their appreciation of Rodney’s efforts by voting him the Number One Physical Therapist at the lake every year since 2001! Brownell Physical Therapy and Fitness Center is dedicated to assisting the community with several programs and services to help you feel and look your best. The #1-voted (’09) Fitness Center offers cardio and strength equipment (both machines and free weights). Not ready to work out on your own? The Wellness Program keeps you going with assisted post-PT sessions. Personal training is also available by appointment. Extreme Sports Athletic Enhancement helps athletes (ages 10 and up) expand and refine their physical skills. Many Lakers have increased their strength, speed, coordination, flexibility and jumping ability during workout sessions focused on sport-specific drills. Stop by the Stone Castle Centre in Camdenton or call (573) 317-0111 for an appointment. Come see why we are Number One.

Peak Sport and Spine repping private practice PT at the Capitol. Huge props to these people for standing up for our legislative rights to continue to treat patients and receive fair reimbursement.

PTs and the MPTA lobbying team met in the Capitol today to testify in support of fair health insurance reimbursement for PT services. HB 298 sponsored by Rep. Lichtenegger (R-Jackson) addresses this issue.

As many of you know, Brownell Physical Therapy & Fitness Center has joined forces with the Columbia, MO-based Sport and Spine which has also recently merged with Peak Performance, another central Missouri-based therapy group. Clear as mud? It's still Rodney Brownell and his cohorts providing excellent PT care in the same place. Just a different name. Check out this promo for LakeTV's broadcast of the Camdenton Laker football game on Halloween night against the Rolla Bulldogs in the Class 5, District 4 semifinal.
