Saturday evening of the Symposium featured the Camillus Community Concert Band under the direction of Andy Perry. It is a group comprised of alumni of the West Genesee band program, and a reflection of their community centered around the arts.

We had a fantastic time yesterday evening with our interactive panel, "Your Career Starts Now," at the New York State Band Directors Association Symposium!

This session dove deep into the realities of music education in the contemporary era. We explored the evolving landscape of our field and discussed actionable ways emerging educators can proactively prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Thank you to our phenomenal panelists: Erin Althen, Corey Riley, and Alessandra Shellard. Your insights, transparency, and dedication to the next generation of music educators were truly inspiring. The energy in the room was fantastic, and the thoughtful questions from the collegiate attendees made it a genuinely collaborative and eye-opening dialogue.

To all the future music educators entering the field: your impact begins long before you officially step onto the podium. Keep learning, keep adapting, and stay passionate about the music!

Randall Standridge joined us this year for the Symposium keynote address.
