Hello Beloveds,
This time of the year is hard, I know it is. January to mid-March is always the hardest time of the year for our mental health. We are grueling to the close of winter, awaiting for the light to return, and truly in our “darkest before the dawn” moments. This time of year I see a big increase in new referrals, and as much as my soul wants to help everyone - I cannot, I must honor my “No”. I am a highly sensitive person, and unfortunately I don’t always have the emotional energy to reply to each inquiry as they grow - my energy has to remain present with my current clients during these intense times. I encourage anyone interested to continue to check back for possible openings in the future - I will have it noted on my Instagram, website, and TherapyDen profile if I am accepting new clients. I am incredibly grateful for the interest in working with me, it’s been truly humbling these past five months. Wishing everyone peace and balance at this time 💜✨

Let it fall, beloved. This life is yours. We carry the weight of others, often times softening their worries, circumventing their wounds, and feeling the pressing weight of guilt upon our shoulders. A guilt that cries for agency, opportunity, voice. Your freedom, joy, grace, and peace bears no price, my dear. You do not need permission to use the wings that were gifted upon you, and you need not apologize to those who fear the heights you fly. 💜✨

the journey to self-love and acceptance is one that often takes years of deconstructing work to dismantle the systemic and illusionary constructs that have augmented perception of self, as well as healing personal traumas that perpetuate negative self-concepts. self-love and liberation involve understanding how micro and macro experiences and systems have played a role in “shaping” the perception of identity that we were socialized into occupying.

i have been seeing so many individuals breaking down these constructs imposed upon them, questioning the incongruence between the emerging “self” and masked self. with this awakening comes grief; it comes with remembering the times when self-betrayal kept us safe, kept us “accepted”, but slowly chipped into our own distortions and instigated a silent war within us.

with the grief that comes with blooming awareness, we have an opportunity for compassion and unconditional love. we can send grace to the times we were conditioned to betray ourselves, and we can find compassion in the present moments where we still find ourselves finding protection behind our masks.

we slowly find ourselves embracing our most authentic form, finding that sparkle that’s been hidden within. embrace that brilliance, for your unique design was made to shine. day by day may be find the courage and spaces to step into our light. ✨

Meet the Therapist: Sierra McCulloch, MSW, LCSW

My name is Sierra, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Owner of Healing Light Counseling and Integrative Services, LLC. I specialize in complex interpersonal trauma, neurodivergence, and embracing neurodiversity and non-traditional healing. I am a Certified Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher. I have an advanced interest and skill in alternative modalities of holistic healing.

In addition to clinical practice, I am a PhD Candidate with Widener University. My research and specializations include decolonizing perspectives and approaches to resilience and healing of complex trauma, with special considerations of indigenous avenues of healing work with women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergence, maternal mental health, and sexual violence.

As a therapist, I have a client-centered approach and work as a strengths-based and trauma-informed practitioner, eclectically incorporating methods that meet the needs of each individual. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, neurodivergent women and teens, and LGBTQ+ folx. I approach all work with an intersectional trauma-informed lens, remaining mindful of intersecting areas of macro systemic trauma and oppression that impact individuals at a micro level. I work actively as a clinician to create a safe space for all individuals to heal and grow through an equal partnership built on trusting collaboration.
