I have been working on ZōRI’s HANAO cushions/ rests since last autumn.
草履/Zori are traditional Japanese footwear with 鼻緒/hanao(thongs), which have been worn in Japan since ancient times. They are made from a variety of materials, including rice straw, cloth, lacquered wood, leather, rubber, and synthetic materials. Like geta (wooden clogs), they are worn with kimonos and yukatas, and in modern times, they are also popular as casual sandals.
Often HANAO is too tight to wear zōri or getting flat hanao when not worn Zōri(HANAO is laying flat if you not store right way), creating uncomfortable to wear long time or sometime creating a blister…😣
So…
I made this HANAO rest cushion to support HANAO when it’s not using…
I filled wz 蕎麦殻/SOBAGARA( buckwheat hulls ) & palo santo powder…
Heart shape is also catch point too 💓
Hopefully this cushions will help wear Zōri more comfortably…🥰
