Sleep is not a luxury — it’s a necessity. 🛌💤

This Sleep Awareness Week (March 8-14), take a moment to check in with your sleep habits. Quality sleep helps support your mood, memory, immune system, and overall health.

✨ A few simple sleep tips:
• Stick to a consistent bedtime and wake-up schedule
• Limit screen time before bed
• Create a calm, dark sleep environment
• Avoid caffeine late in the day

Prioritizing rest is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind.

How many hours of sleep did you get last night? 😴🥱.

Kid ENT Health Month is an educational observance focused on raising awareness about ear, nose, and throat (ENT) health in children. Led by medical organizations such as the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the initiative highlights common pediatric ENT conditions including ear infections, hearing loss, sinusitis, allergies, enlarged tonsils, and sleep-related breathing disorders. Because these conditions can impact a child’s speech, learning ability, and overall development, the campaign emphasizes early diagnosis, routine screenings, proper treatment, and preventive care. Kid ENT Health Month also encourages parents and caregivers to recognize warning signs—such as frequent ear pain, difficulty hearing, persistent nasal congestion, or snoring—and to seek evaluation from qualified healthcare professionals to ensure healthy growth and long-term well-being.

Maggie wants to make sure that everyone knows that AOP offers the best hearing aid services in central Pennsylvania! She would also like to say that you go to Costco for toilet paper, not hearing aids.

ENT JOKE:
The doctor said to stop using Q- Tips, but it went in one ear and out the other.

DON’T USE Q-TIPS IN YOUR EARS

Why Q-tips are not recommended
• Q-tips usually push ear wax deeper into the ear canal
• This can cause wax blockage (impaction)
• May lead to muffled hearing, ear pain, ringing, or dizziness
• Can scratch the ear canal or damage the eardrum
• Increases the risk of infection

Safe ear care tips
• Ears are self-cleaning — wax normally moves out on its own
• Do not insert cotton swabs, tissues, hairpins, or other objects
• Use ear drops only if recommended by a healthcare professional

When to seek care
Contact us if you experience:
• A feeling of fullness or blockage
• Decreased hearing
• Ear pain, ringing, or discomfort

Visit AOP for professional ear care
If you feel you may have ear wax buildup, the team at AOP can safely evaluate and remove wax when needed.

Wax build-up is one of the main causes that your hearing aid stops working. It is important to change your wax filter regularly because earwax can clog up the sound outlets in your hearing aids, resulting in weak or distorted sound. Here is a video that shows you how to change your filters.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
