The number of flu cases in our state continues to increase.😷
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is reporting that the influenza A virus strain known as subclade K is the most-reported flu virus of the season, and the numbers are growing: https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/dashboard

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, influenza is spread mainly by particles containing the virus when people with the illness cough, sneeze or talk. If you must visit the Medical Center during this heightened flu season, we recommend wearing a mask to help reduce the spread of the flu virus especially if you or your loved ones are exhibiting symptoms like coughing/sneezing. Thank you for helping us minimize the spread of flu!

Merry Christmas from Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune! 🔔
We hope you are enjoying a day of rest and making memories with your family. We’ve had the opportunity to make memories here at NMCCL around the holidays, spreading cheer and lifting spirits!

🎄 At the beginning of the month, we kicked off the season with a tree-lighting ceremony to brighten up our Quarterdeck.

🍪 Leadership hosted a command cookie event on Dec. 12, giving out Christmas cookies to our hardworking team.

🎅 If you’ve been to the Medical Center in the past month, you’ve probably seen the beautiful holiday decorations that clinics and offices have shared! Rehabilitation Services won 1st place in the decorating contest with Pain Management and Dental Clinics taking 2nd place and 3rd place, respectively. Inpatient Mental Health won the door decorating category.

🏍 We also received a visit from our friends with Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. These veterans bring stuffed animals for our pediatric patients each Christmas season. Thank you for thinking of our kiddos, Rolling Thunder!

🔵 DRILL - CODE BLUE - DRILL 🔵

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune executed a Code Blue Drill Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Code Blue, called over the medical center intercom, signals to teams that someone in the facility is in cardiac or respiratory distress. Once the Code Blue is called, our teams spring into action to quickly respond with life-saving measures. If you hear a Code Blue called over the NMCCL speakers, don’t be alarmed. Our teams are ready to help.
