Join us in welcoming the newest member of the CVFC team – Calli Brooks. If you see an unfamiliar face sitting at the desk or hear a new voice on the phone – it’s Calli! She’ll be joining Dr. French for a few hours each week so if you’re lucky you’ll get a chance to chat with her. Formerly an elementary school teacher, Calli left the world of education to stay home with her daughter. We’re thrilled to be her first stop as she steps back into the working world. Calli knows a little something about just about everything so she's sure to make your waiting room experience a little more exciting.

Sending our love to the Sterrett family today after the passing of sweet Ms. Salli this week. We are grateful to have known her.

When the world feels heavy, like there is so much out of our control, when we feel like nothing we do will make a difference – I can assure you that small acts of kindness give us a little control back because they do matter and can be a catalyst for more kindness. There’s a meal train for the Sterrett family and whether you know them personally or not, doing something you are able to do where you are – even if it’s just to make a meal for a stranger – does matter and will make all the difference to that family in their time of grief and struggle and for today, it is enough.

As we all start to get a little antsy and ready to resume to normal life, this is an interesting look at just how devastating this virus can be. While we may not be as heavily impacted in rural Arizona as people are in big cities, let us not forget that this is serious. The numbers we hear are often desensitizing but they represent lives – moms, dads, sisters, brothers, friends – not just numbers. Even if it doesn’t seem like a concern, even though this is hard and small businesses and individuals are suffering, this is not a disease you want to get and for someone else it could be their death sentence. We’ll get through this but it’s important to stay vigilant, if not for yourself, for someone else – the newborn baby, the elderly, the immunocompromised. Stay strong out there!

In the midst of Coronavirus madness, let's find a way to be helpful to others:

If you have extra food or supplies on hand that you would like to donate to those who need them, please feel free to drop them by the clinic and we will make them available to people in need.

Check in with your elderly neighbors to see if they need any assistance getting basic supplies or just need some company.

School closures are likely. Parents may need help with childcare or with basic supplies for their children. Many children rely on school meals to eat and unexpectedly being out of school will put a strain on many families. Consider donating to food banks, churches, or dropping food at the clinic and we will make it available to local children in need.

**If you are having any signs or symptoms of illness of any kind please cancel your appointment and reschedule when your symptoms have resolved. We serve a vulnerable population and it is not worth risking the health and safety of others even if your symptoms are mild.**
