One thing clients often notice at my studio, is that we don’t rush straight to the massage table.

Before each session, especially for new clients, we take a few moments simply to sit, breathe, talk, and allow the nervous system time to begin slowing down from the pace of everyday life.

So many people arrive carrying stress, overstimulation, anxiety, rushing, caretaking, decision fatigue, and the constant pressure to keep going. The body rarely fully relaxes until the mind begins to feel safe enough to soften first.

Those quiet moments before a session are intentional. They create space to exhale, settle in, and transition into a calmer state before therapeutic work begins.

Healing doesn’t always begin with touch. Sometimes it begins with feeling safe, seen, heard, and allowed to simply breathe.

Aside from finishing the degree I started in 1985, I was blessed with family and friends. They took time out of their day to travel and spend time with me, celebrate with me, and love on me. I even got flowers! Growing everyday!! Blessed in every way.

Tonight, I graduate with my Associate in Arts degree from ECTC. 💜

This journey has stretched me, humbled me, exhausted me, and grown me in ways I never expected. Returning to college later in life while running a business, caring for family, and navigating life’s many changes and challenges has not always been easy, but it has absolutely been worth it.

I want to sincerely thank my family, friends, clients, ECTC staff, and instructors who encouraged me, supported me, showed patience and grace, and believed in me along the way. So many of you offered kind words, flexibility, understanding, and support when I needed it most, and I will never forget that.

To my clients especially, thank you for continuing to support Green River Therapeutic Massage while I balanced school, work, and life. Your encouragement carried me farther than you probably realize.

Another turn of the wheel, another sacred season. 🌙
