May is Stroke Awareness Month, and the team at Taylor Regional Hospital wants to remind our community that knowing the signs of stroke could save a life.

Every minute matters during a stroke. In fact, “time lost is brain lost.” Quick treatment can make all the difference.

Know the warning signs with B.E. F.A.S.T.:
🅱️ Balance loss
👀 Eyes/vision changes
🙂 Face drooping
💪 Arm weakness
🗣️ Speech difficulty
⏰ Time to call 911

A few important facts:
▪️ Stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is blocked or interrupted.
▪️ About 1 in 4 stroke survivors are at risk for another stroke.
▪️ Many strokes can be prevented through healthy lifestyle choices and managing risk factors like high blood pressure.

If you notice symptoms in yourself or someone else, call 911 immediately and seek emergency care right away.

🥕 The Farmer’s Market of Taylor County Pop-Up Market happening EVERY Tuesday from 11AM–2PM in the TRH Courtyard between the Jane Wheatley Medical Building and the hospital! Fresh produce, local goods, and healthy choices brought directly to our community through our Eat Better, Feel Better initiative in partnership with the Farmers' Market Association, Inc. of Taylor County!

🍎 The Eat Better, Feel Better Kickoff Event happening Wednesday, June 3rd at the Taylor County Cooperative Extension Service featuring vendors, healthy snacks, community information, and special guest speakers including Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell, State Senator Max Wise, and State Representative Sarge Po***ck!

💙 This week, we hosted our 2nd Annual TRH Food Show — and it was another HUGE success! 🍽️✨

During the event, Taylor Regional Hospital team members had the opportunity to walk through, sample TONS of food and beverage items, enjoy free goodies, and most importantly… vote on new items they’d love to see added to our TRH Cafeteria menu! 👏

From snacks and drinks to meal options and sweet treats, there were so many fun items to try throughout the event! 🍕🥤🍫🌮
