Our residents have started a special tradition where they choose one of our amazing team members each week to be celebrated as the All-Star of the Week! Each All-Star receives a thoughtful goodie bag and a handmade card from our residents as a token of appreciation.

Our next All-Star of the Week is Amber, Activities Coordinator. When asked why they chose Amber this week, the residents said, “We look at Amber as if she is our family and we love her.” Amber is helpful, patient, kind, and a joy to be around.

Our next All-Star of the Week is Sitha, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)! She wears many hats in our building as she also helps out with social services and transportation. Sitha was selected because of her sweet demure and attention to detail. She is very personable and a dependable member of our team.

Recently, Altercare Canal Wi******er and Altercare Newark North were proud sponsors of Mount Carmel Hospital’s second annual Dr. O Memorial Race. This event recognized the outstanding contributions of Dr. John (Jack) O'Handley, known as Dr. O. Dr. O spearheaded The Street Medicine program as medical director for 25 years, providing vital, no-cost medical care to uninsured and underinsured individuals. We were honored to be a part of this amazing event, honoring a wonderful man.

Yvonne shared information about the great benefits, supportive work environment, and growth opportunities that make Altercare a wonderful place to build a career in healthcare.

We enjoyed meeting potential team members and look forward to welcoming new faces to the Altercare family!

On Friday, our staff celebrated Halloween with festive desserts and spooky punch! Team members were encouraged to show their spirit by wearing Halloween-themed attire, and everyone had a frightfully fun time together.

A special thank you to our Staff Coordinator, Yvonne, for organizing this celebration and always focusing on employee appreciation. We love seeing our team come together to celebrate and make lasting memories.

On Friday, we hosted Trick or Treat for members of the community, staff, and families. Residents lined the halls to pass out candy to everyone. Afterwards, we enjoyed eating tacos and spending time together. Everyone had a great time at this event and we look forward to doing it again in the future!
