Are you experiencing knee pain or discomfort that comes with physical activity, especially when going up and down stairs, squatting, or sitting for prolonged periods of time? You may have Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, which is a common condition that affects the kneecap and its ability to track the right way.. 😫

Sometimes, this condition can be misdiagnosed as simple knee soreness, but if not addressed properly, it can lead to chronic pain and larger problems down the line. Your symptoms may include pain in the front of the knee, a grinding or popping sensation, swelling, and stiffness.

Do you experience hand tingling and/or numbness that comes on with activity and maybe some arm or shoulder pain that accompanies it? Hear us out, it may not be Carpal Tunnel!

Sometimes these symptoms are actually coming from your neck and at times this is mismanaged, making it last a lot longer than needed. Your symptom can be numbness, tingling, or pain in your hand or fingers. You may or may not have pain in your neck and arm.

Pickleball and Shoulder Pain: Everything You Need To Know

A racket, or paddle sport, uses your arms way more than maybe you think.

Even if the paddle is pretty light! The repetitions and speed at which your arm may be used is different from your day-to-day activities and/or your gym routine.

Whether just beginning or have been competing for a while your pain may be different from your friends based on where and when it hurts.

Common areas involved are your rotator cuff and your shoulder blade muscles. Volume and capacity also play a role, just as with any other sport.

Pickleball and low back pain are no different. People who have been playing for a while or those who are just picking it up may experience some low back pain while playing.

Your pain will be located in the front of your shoulder, your trap muscle or down the side of the upper arm. Sometimes if it's bad enough you will even lose mobility in your shoulder!

TRAINING INJURY ➡ TENDINITIS

Struggling with pain that hurts when you move a specific muscle? It could actually be tendon pain and here’s how you can tell!!

Your pain will be dull and achy. Sometimes the pain is constant, sometimes the pain comes and goes (there is variability here). The pain will ALWAYS be worse after you use the specific muscle to do work.

Your pain might be caused by a tendon problem if:
❌Training or working out makes it worse
❌“Stiffness” sets in after not moving it for awhile
❌Flare ups last for 3 to 12 hours
❌Rest takes the pain away
❌Sleeping on it makes it worse

If this sounds familiar and the problem has been going on for longer than 2 weeks, you need to give us a call! Tendon problems are easily treatable BEFORE they completely tear. We are able to treat your injury while keeping you active and training during rehab! 👋

Peak Physiotherapy and Performance is a physical therapy clinic in Canal Wi******er, Ohio specializing in the rehabilitation of orthopedic, temporomandibular joint pain (jaw pain) and CrossFit injuries. We serve patients in Canal Wi******er, Reynoldsburg, Carroll, Pickerington, Groveport, Grove City, and Columbus. Using corrective exercise, cupping, massage, manipulation/adjustment and dry needling , we treat a variety of injuries including: headaches, tendonitis, back pain, neck pain, jaw pain, tennis elbow, rotator cuff pain, shoulder impingement, frozen shoulder, hip impingement, groin pain, knee sprains, patellofemoral pain, plantar fasciitis muscle strains, sciatica and disc herniations.
