Here's the latest update on our ongoing hospital renovation project: The H&P (History & Physical Exam) Clinic - where patients go when they have surgery coming up - is temporarily relocating to our Surgical Care Center beginning Thursday, October 30.
Patients will enter through the hospital's Constellation Center and check in for their appointment at the Surgical Care Center main desk in the upper lobby. Directional signage is posted to guide patients, and associates will help guide them as well.

In the spirit of Halloween, three of our nurses dressed up today as K cards, which are a visual method used to initiate conversations and sustain evidence-based practice. They rounded on the hospital floors, prompting smiles and raising awareness as they asked trivia questions about central line-associated bloodstream infections, catheter-associated urinary tract infections, and pressure injuries. From left to right are Clinical Nurse Educator Roni Potter, Director of Infection Prevention Stacey Gibbs, and Wound/Ostomy Nurse Kimberly Mayo. Kudos to this terrific trio for finding a creative way to educate!

Thank you to members of RIT's Global Public Health Association and friends! They carved nearly 20 jack-o-lanterns for the Pumpkin Walk that our Recreation Therapy Department is holding later this week for residents of our M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. John Oliphant, a physician assistant in our Associate Health Department, is a professor at RIT and the director of the Global Public Health bachelor’s degree program there. He helped with the pumpkin carving and getting the pumpkins loaded up for their trip to Thompson!

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney visited our main campus Thursday to meet with our leadership team. Taking a tour of our hospital, they discussed the challenges the hospital and nursing home face in the current healthcare climate and talked about what Thompson needs in order to thrive and continue meeting the needs of our community.
