The public is invited to join us in Rayburn Hall at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, for a very special presentation by Naples Town Historian Ken Poole. Painter and Naples High School teacher Ira Randall was a local legend known for landscape paintings of the homes and countryside around South Bristol and Naples, as well as for his meticulous dioramas of Naples and Bristol Springs. Ken has interviewed collectors, friends, and family members to create a pictorial timeline of Randall’s work.

Roofing work started this week on the project, which has Pike Construction Services as the lead contractor.

“And I say to you, I have also decided to stick with love, for I know that love is ultimately the only answer to mankind’s problems. And I’m going to talk about it everywhere I go.”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on August 16, 1967, speaking at the 10th annual session of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference

On a day when we woke up to especially frigid temperatures, a soup luncheon in Rayburn Hall really hit the spot. Our soup-er hero, Claire, served up turkey noodle and minestrone with fresh fruit and rolls as everyone had a chance to catch up with their neighbors before the weekend.

Inspired by the Dolly Parton book “Coat of Many Colors,” this quilt on display at our assisted living community of Clark Meadows “reminds us that our differences do not divide us – they wrap us in warmth,” according to Lifestyle Coordinator Beth Bingham. Staff and residents who are a part of the beautiful quilt are represented by the squares. For each resident, Beth said, “there is a word chosen by our staff to reflect what that person brings into our shared life together.” How cool is that?

After a holiday hiatus, Work Besties Wednesday is back! Today features Beth of Resident Services at Clark Meadows, our assisted living community. Beth (left) says she considers herself fortunate because she meshes so well with coworker Melissa. “She and I have a ‘sixth sense’ with each other. Many times we are both thinking along the same lines without even communicating,” Beth says. During a week when many of us are settling back into work following time away, we’re grateful for the colleagues who make such a positive difference in our lives!

If you're anything like us, you're still catching up from the holidays. Today, that included going through the results of a fun photo shoot two days before Christmas, when two Ferris Hills residents suited up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to pose with Clark Meadows residents and with staff. As you can see, everyone had fun with it. After all, we're all kids at heart, right?

Residents of our assisted living community, Clark Meadows, rang in the new year with champagne, party hats, balloons, streamers and all of the other things one might expect to find, plus a life-size cutout of a horse! Steve West provided the entertainment, and in addition hors d'oeuvres, there were cranberry ice cubes for the champagne.
