On November 20th Ag Plus Cooperative proudly presented a portion of their October Breast Cancer Awareness proceeds—$1,056—to Sanford Canby Medical Center. This donation is part of Ag Plus’s initiative to give back, where they pledged a portion of their proceeds for every gallon of fuel pumped during one week in October. Thanks to your support, this contribution will help cancer patients in our local communities.

Ag Plus is committed to making a positive impact in the places we call home. Supporting local healthcare and giving back to our neighbors is just one way to show dedication to strengthening our communities.

Thank you to everyone who fueled up in October to make this possible! Together, we’re driving change.

Congratulations to Jim Hornung who was nominated by Kerri DeVos for the Friend of APP Award and received this award recently in Sioux Falls. He was joined by his wife, Marva, and daughter and son-in-law for the surprise. Kerri’s nomination spoke to Jims’s expertise and openness assuring our APP staff have the information they need to provide timely, high-quality care. Jim was described as efficient, kind, humble, and dedicated. She went on to say that Jim enjoys being part of a team and creates a family-like work environment where everyone feels valued.

Congratulations, Jim, on this well-deserved award furthering our culture of recognition at Sanford Canby.

Sanford Clinic - Management Employee of the Year – Cheryl Ferguson

On October 15, 2025, Sanford Canby had a very special event awarding the Sanford Clinic Management Employee of the Year to Cheryl Ferguson, Sanford Canby and Sanford Clear Lake Clinic Director. Cheryl has been with Sanford for 44 years in various roles. She was nominated by Lori Sisk, Carrie Hawley, and Jason Anderson for this award. Cheryl was surprised by staff coming to the event and her family that were able to be part of the surprise. The nominations talked about how Cheryl lives the Sanford values every day and how treating others like family is just something Cheryl does. Also, there were examples of how she wants the best for patients, cares deeply about how we treat our patients and residents and each other. Words like compassion, humility, respect, community, innovation were used to describe Cheryl.
