So we decided to go bigger and here’s a sneak peek at our next project.
Using a CNC which is a precision woodworking tool we’ve begun by cutting out stars using maple wood and inserting on a walnut background keeping the colors as accurate as possible without the use of dye, stain or paint

At Steps to Peace and Purpose, we are proud to be the only sober living facility in Asheville that welcomes service dogs for our residents. These extraordinary animals are vital to the recovery journey by offering constant support, companionship, and a sense of security.

Research has demonstrated that having a service dog can greatly alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, common obstacles during recovery. This supportive bond encourages our residents to focus on their recovery goals and stick to their daily routines, which are crucial for sustained sobriety.

By integrating service dogs into our community, we foster an inclusive and supportive environment that acknowledges and adapts to the unique needs of each individual. This not only aids sobriety but also empowers residents to heal knowing their devoted service animal is accompanying them every step of the way.

Every Wednesday, we have a Tai Chi instructor visit our facility to teach a class for all of our residents. We believe this offers a unique, holistic approach that sets us apart from other sober living facilities. This ancient martial art enhances sobriety by managing stress and anxiety through gentle movements and breathe work, fostering mindfulness and inner peace. Tai Chi connects individuals with their bodies and minds, promoting balance and harmony. It also improves physical health by boosting flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular function, complementing emotional and mental well-being. Regular practice increases self-awareness and discipline, empowering healthier choices. Our weekly Tai Chi classes highlight our commitment to a well-rounded recovery program. Embracing different modalities in recovery underlines our dedication to helping individuals find peace and purpose.

At Steps to Peace and Purpose this Thanksgiving, we reflected on gratitude and self-improvement over the past year. While the journey can be intimidating, each challenge guides us towards a brighter future. In this supportive environment, we discover new ways to enjoy the season and appreciate the community that uplifts us. Together, we embrace life's challenges, celebrate small victories, and support one another on this road towards a life worth living.

At Steps to Peace and Purpose, we believe our sober living community can have numerous benefits for individuals in recovery, and here is what we strive to offer:

1. Supportive Environment: We provide a structured and supportive atmosphere where residents can focus on their recovery journey while surrounded by peers who understand their challenges.

2. Accountability: We encourage accountability. Regular check-ins, house rules, and shared responsibilities help residents stay committed to their sobriety goals.

3. Peer Support: Residents can build strong connections with others who are also in recovery, fostering friendships and support networks that can be crucial for maintaining sobriety.

4. Life Skills Development: We offer programs that teach essential life skills, such as budgeting and job readiness, which can aid in reintegration into society.

5. Transition to Independence: We serve as a bridge between rehabilitation and independent living, allowing individuals to gradually adjust to life outside of treatment while still having support.

6. Access to Resources: Our community provides access to resources such as therapy, counseling, and job placement services, helping residents develop a holistic recovery plan.

7. Structured Routine: A daily structure helps our residents establish healthy habits and routines that can support long-term recovery.

Through our sober living community, individuals can enhance their chances of maintaining sobriety and achieving a fulfilling life in recovery. For any questions about our program, please reach out to us at 828-467-3336.
