A new study out of the USA found that those eating just one ounce (28 grams) weekly of had 15% less risk of dying from any cause during the 14-year study period. In other words, their lives were longer. There was also a 23% reduction in heart disease risk and an incredible 43% risk reduction for death from Alzheimer’s disease. What makes chocolate so ? It’s a rich source of powerful antioxidants called PACs (proanthocyanidins) which have been associated with lower risk for several types of , heart disease and dementia. But moderation is key here: the best results were seen at just 0.7-1 ounces per week!
