Ortman Chiropractic Clinic Home of the Ortman Technique The Ortman Technique was developed over 100 years ago by a young farmer, Amon Ortman.

Amon began “treating” family and friends complaining of back and neck pain by seating them on anything convenient such as milk can, bucket or wagon tongue. As family and friends spread word about Amon’s natural talent for relieving pain, more and more people traveled to his farm to get a treatment—sometimes staying for a few days. Recognizing his ability and enjoyment in helping others, Amon gave up farming to become a licensed chiropractor and establish the Ortman Chiropractic Clinic—home of the Ortman Technique. The Ortman Technique is a chiropractic manipulation of the spine or extraspinal joint administered while the patient is seated. The treatment is primarily performed using firm thumb pressure to correct spinal misalignment and to balance nerve, soft tissue, and joint function. This unique chiropractic manipulation promotes natural healing and overall well-being.
