At CommonSpirit Health, we prioritize safety for our patients and for our caregivers. On this Friday, we join the American Hospital Association and stand in solidarity with our colleagues across our hospitals and clinics – and the healthcare industry – to raise awareness about the increased risk of violence against healthcare workers in recent years.

Make no mistake: Violence and aggression have no place at our care sites. Through increased training, risk evaluation, emotional support for our teams and more, we are dedicated to violence prevention. Every patient deserves to be treated with compassion, and every health care worker deserves to be treated with respect.

After enjoying a day of snowmobiling, Michael noticed his right hand was numb and his speech was hard to understand. Micahel’s wife immediately took him to see a doctor, where they discovered a mass in his brain. Flight for Life flew Michael to CommonSpirit St. Anthony Hospital, and he underwent an eight-hour craniotomy to remove the mass in his brain.
