𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹

How does new information you read, hear or see about a healthier lifestyle sit with you? Maybe you are excited about the opportunity? Are you encouraged seeing another’s success? Is there a glimmer of hope just because you noticed the words at all?
Or flip side, does it illicit FEAR or maybe SHAME? Do you find yourself dismissing the information altogether not seeing its relevance, believing you are sicker than others? Are you interested but tomorrow is another day?
One of the mantras I live by is that normal is not good enough anymore. Being “normal” used to mean safety, blending in. Living by what was expected, accepted and familiar. But somewhere along the way, normal began to include chronic stress, poor sleep, processed foods, emotional disconnection. It is still accepted and familiar, but is it what is best for us? For you?
Most of us take the road of least resistance when going about our day. Our time is scheduled, our efforts are in constant demand, and our energy is stretched thin. Normal is now often used as a crutch and excuse. When looking at everyone else’s normal and comparing and judging yourself to that, the disconnect may be overwhelming.
I bring this up because in my book Healing Habits I present 20 principles connected to actionable habits that most people already embrace in their lifestyle. Eat, sleep, movement, emotions, routines, work, being outdoors or indoors. Nothing over the top or new-fangled concepts here. These are simple concepts anyone can understand. Young children do them unconsciously – it’s the unlearning required as we grow older that complicates.
The habits connected to each principle are practical ideas designed to turn positive actions into healthier, more intentional choices. Choices that reduce stress and inflammation and help the body to heal. Sound complicated, overwhelming and a lot of effort? Where is the easy button?
There are theories out there now that we are a society wanting information that has been dumbed down. To-do lists and magic pills. That information overload leaves us little time to process. But dumb leads us to quick fixes and often disillusionment in the mask it creates.
The complexity and depth of a decision made, a detoxed body made well, emotions that bring peace or a life lived with purpose cannot be dumbed down. But they can be made simple. Simple can be hard or easy and is always learnable and doable. Nor It can create a lifestyle of struggle or support a healthy body. Simple is powerful because it removes pressure. You can start where you are and grow.
Simple ideas can be processed into more intentional choices and actionable habits. Our efforts can be gentle steps or big decisions. In the end our health deserves more than normal. And that is simple.

I am not sure how many need to hear this but there are coffee companies that DO make a difference. I never liked the taste of coffee (or the cramping and side affects on my gut) but liked the caffeine boost - oh for about 30 years. The tannins in tea began to bother me too so I was out of luck with a healthy hot drink. ENTER Purity Coffee!! This mold-free, body & health supporting coffee is amazing! No symptom triggers, no jitters and it tastes amazingly pure and full of flavor, no after-taste or bitterness. SO if you would like to get back to being able to drink a cup of coffee again - this is your answer!

Ok- with all that said, they gave me a code for your to try it out! Use this link and the discount code REBECCA to get 20% off just for trying it out! https://puritycoffee.com/?rfsn=8685933.2cac8f

(My favorites - lol never get a pic with a full pot)

🌿 Your healing doesn’t start with a magic pill—it starts with a decision.

Here are the first 3 healing habits that changed everything for me:
1️⃣ Take full responsibility—no more waiting to be rescued.
2️⃣ Know your purpose—your “why” will keep you going when it gets tough.
3️⃣ Trust your body—it’s not broken, it’s trying to lead you home.

I was looking at pins and posts this past weekend from numerous sites and groups dealing with autoimmune diseases; Crohn's disease, fibro, IBD, lupus etc. The thing that struck me was the defeat and resigned attitude that supporters doled out to 'newbie's' asking questions. One question was asked about fatigue and leg aches and if it was a forever thing or will it get better - and how? Most of the answers were of the 'just live with it...it is now a part of your life' persuasion. No helpful advice, nothing supportive to look forward to and it made me sad to think this is how these women are living their days.

While I agree that fatigue and aching legs often do come with an autoimmune disease, it does not have to be a forever symptom. Over the years, when I have had active disease and my immune system was being tested to its limit, I also suffered from a fatigue that never went away and legs that hurt so bad I would spend hours in a hot bath to relieve the pain. But as I strengthened my immune system and the disease wrecked less havoc, these symptoms went away. Now I use the occasional fatigue as a forewarning that I need to slow down, eat better, etc. so I don't cause a flare.

My book Healing Habits goes much deeper into this topic, describing how you can, in fact, have an impact on your health and need not resign yourself to chronic pain or trying to live with constant fatigue.

I understand where these comments of 'live with it' come from. I get it. But there is a flip side - so let's work with that side of the coin.
We all know someone that could use some support and helpful advice dealing with their chronic illness. Let's make it count!

I found a grace in taking care of myself that
I did not know was missing. I found continued
confidence in my intuition. I found strength
in my mind and body that served me well,
And I found the truth that when allowed,
the body can heal itself.

The cruelest part of disease is not the pain it brings, but the way it steals tomorrow’s promise.
